Once we conclude that the basic nature of humanity is compassionate rather than aggressive, our relationship to the world around us changes immediately. Seeing other as basically compassionate instead of hostile and selfish helps us relax, trust, live at ease. It makes us happier.

LISTENING

Listening itself is an art. When we listen with a still and concentrated mind, it's possible to actuallly be responsive to what the words are saying. Sometimes deep insights come in a flash, unexpectedly.

RESPECT

Respect leads to caring- a quality of impeccability in what we do.
Respect and faith nourish each other and give birth to many skilful actions.
As we foster the quality of respect in our lives, we can also begin to see the world in a different light.
The tone of caring that arises from giving respect can trasform how we interact with society.
We begin to explore the possibilities of service, of taking an active role in seeing
what needs doing and lending our energy to those endeavours.Compassion motivates us to act,
and wisdom ensures the means are effective.

OFFERINGS

The Buddaha talked of morality as being the true beauty of a person.
It is the goodness that really shines on the inside of a person.
This is one of the greatest contributions we can give to the world,
for our non- harming offers the gift of safety and trust to all those around us.

I live in New Yorks Lower East Side for many years now and I am always impressed with the changing art - the layers that graffitii takes on after person after person adds something - I think this says a lot about art in general. Look what I saw. I try and imagine your eyes.
